Curriculum-Based Measurement

Math Computation Norms

In CBM Math, which is first administered in winter of first grade, worksheets containing a mix of problems requiring different math operations are given to students in a group situation.  Directions are read.  Students are told to begin and they complete as many of the problems in the allotted time period (from 2 to 4 minutes depending on the grade level).  Credit is given for every correct digit in the answer.  For example if the answer was 83 and the response was 73, one correct digit would be awarded for that problem.
