MAZE Norms

Reading comprehension is measured by the MAZE CBM probe. During this group administered test, students are required to read a passage in which certain words are replaced with a choice of three options. Students must circle the correct word from these choices. Students are told to begin and they read a much of the passage as possible in the allotted time period (3 minutes).  Credit is given for every correct response circled.

Num = Number of Students  RC = Responses Correct 
 ROI = Rate Of Improvement

ROI is Spring Score minus Fall Score (or Winter minus Fall) divided by 36 weeks (or 18 weeks)

A fifth grade student at the 50th percentile obtained 38 correct digits during the winter benchmark.
