Gound broken for new high school in west Knox County

Officials from Knox County Schools and Knox County Government broke ground on a new Knox County high school Friday, December 2.

The new school site is located on Hardin Valley Road adjacent to the current Hardin Valley Elementary School campus at 11445 Hardin Valley Rd.

Members of the Knox County Board Of Education, the Knox County Board of Commissioners and Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale joined Superintendent of Schools Dr. Charles Lindsey to break ground on the new facility.

Valerie Neal attended the ground breaking ceremonies and plans to visit the site regularly to check progress. "My son, Benjamin, will be in the first freshman class if all goes as planned," she said. With her are her daugters, 3-year old Natalie and 3rd grader Madalyn.
