KCS announces ACT results
         
KCS Sees massive increase in number of ACT takers
ACT-tested U.S. high school graduates appear to be making slow but steady progress at becoming ready for college and career, according to ACT’s annual Condition of College and Career Readiness report for 2010, which was recently released nationwide.  The ACT test assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.

The Knox County Schools results for 2010 show a 33 percent increase in the number of students taking the ACT, but a small decrease in overall ACT average scores.  A total of 3,469 graduates in 2010 took the ACT exam (2,608 students took the exam in 2009), with resulting averages in the following areas: (Read More)

The Center for Educational Leadership, a collaborative venture between the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and Knox County Schools, has been established at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with funding from a private gift. Part of the program is the Leadership Academy to train future administrators.
