The program’s goal is to develop a model for hosting high school students in UT research laboratories so that they may experience the excitement of scientific research and engage in their own original research. Rising seniors from each of our high schools have been working diligently under the direction of their high school teacher mentors and UT faculty mentors in UT research laboratories. As a part of their work, these students have created posters highlighting aspects of their research projects.  The attached will provide you with additional information.

The Council of West Knox Homeowners will hear a redistricting presentation at their upcoming meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church (621 North Cedar Bluff Road).  Two or more Knox County Board of Education members may be present.

The Knox County Joint Redistricting Committee will conduct a public forum for public input on the proposed redistricting plans on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room located on the first floor of the Andrew Johnson Building (912 S. Gay Street).  The Committee will meet again on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 4 p.m. in the same location.  Two or more Board of Education members could be present at these meetings. There could be two or more Knox County Board of Education members present at the Feb. 22 Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) "Day on the Hill."  The event will be fromn 7 to 9 a.m. at the Downtown Sheraton in Nashville.  Each February, TSBA sponsors a legislative breakfast in Nashville bringing school board members, superintendents and state legislators together for a discussion about pending legislation and public education.
