It’s part of a national public access defibrillation program for schools at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Locally, Project ADAM has placed more than 14 AEDs in various Knox County Schools. At the meeting, Mike Castleman with the Greg W. Moyer Fund presented an AED to Knox County Schools. It is named and in memory of the 15-year old sophomore who was playing basketball for Notre Dame High School and collapsed from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy during half-time. The school didn’t have a defibrillator, which may have helped prevent his death. In an effort to spare other families from this tragedy, the his family established the Greg W. Moyer Fund to help provide AEDs to schools throughout the country. |
