Being involved in your student's education is very important. There are many ways in which you can become involved with your student's school and community. Contact your school or your student's teacher to see how you can be involved.

Fundraising opportunities while you shop
Several merchants have fund raising plans that share a portion of their sales with the school system or with individual schools. These plans offer ways to support your school and be involved that take advantage of daily, routine, necessary activities such as grocery shopping, dry cleaning and more.

1. General Mills 
Program name: Box Tops for Education

Program description: There are three different ways for schools to earn money through this program.  Registered schools can redeem eligible box tops from General Mills products for $0.10 each.  School supporters can also shop online in the Box Tops Marketplace, and a percentage of every purchase goes to the school. In addition, supporters can also sign up for a Box Tops Visa and earn 1 percent of total qualifying purchases for their school. School registration process: All pre-K - 8 schools in Knox County have been  registered for this program.

2. Campbell’s Soup  Program name: Labels for Education
Web site: http://www.labelsforeducation.com Program description: Schools can earn free educational merchandise by collecting and then redeeming labels, lids and UPC codes from eligible Campbell’s products. School registration process: Each school selects a project coordinator who then registers the school through the Labels for Education Web site.  Schools are encouraged to re-enroll each year.

3. Tyson Program name: Project A+

Program description: Registered schools can collect and redeem Tyson Project A+ labels for cash.  Each label is worth $0.24 School registration process: The registration form can be completed online or by ground mail.  (This form is online.)  It can take up to four weeks to process an application. Once registered, school information will be available on the Web site.
5. Target  Program name: Take Charge of Education

Program description: Once a cardholder registers his or her REDcard through Target’s Web site, Target will donate 1 percent of all purchases made at Target and Target.com and 0.5 percent of all purchases made elsewhere to the school of the cardholder’s choice. School registration process: All schools are already registered.  Cardholders must designate the school when they register online.

6. Office Depot Program name: 5% Back to Schools

Program description: When qualifying student school supplies are purchased, Office Depot will reward the school of the customer’s choice with 5% of the total purchase in credits for free supplies.  For a list of qualifying supplies, visit Office Depot. School registration process: Schools are already registered. Each customer designates a school of his or her choice at the time of purchase.

7.  Food Lion  Program name: LionShop & Share

Program description: Once MVP card members register their card through Food Lion’s Web site, registered schools will receive a portion of money spent on groceries. School registration process: Schools have to register online by completing a brief form.

8. Ingles Program name: Tools for Schools

Program description: Once a customer registers his or her Ingles Advantage Card  through the Ingles web site, Ingles will make a donation to the school of the customer’s choice every time the customer uses the Ingles Advantage Card.  Donations can be used to purchase products in the Ingles Tools for Schools catalog. School registration process: To register, schools should contact the Tools For Schools coordinator at 1-800-635-5066, Ext. 421.

9. Food City Program name: Apples for Students

Program description: Schools collect Food City receipts to earn credit for free  educational tools for students.  
School registration process: Each school’s coordinator is responsible for registering the school by filling out a short form on the Apples for Students Web site.  Schools are required to re-enroll every year.

10. Cartridges for Kids

Program description: Schools can earn money by recycling old cell phones, laptops, PDAs and empty inkjet, laser, fax, and copier cartridges.  The amount for each item ranges from $0.25 to $144, depending on the type and condition of the item.
School registration process: To register, schools must fill out a brief enrollment form, which can be found on the Web site.

11. Escrip  Web site: http://www.escrip.com/
Program description: Participating merchants will make a contribution to the school of the customer’s choice every time a purchase is made with a registered credit card. School registration process: Schools are already signed up for this program but should encourage supporters to register their credit cards through this site.

12. ACCESSeStore Web site: http://www.accessestore.com/default.asp
Program description: ACCESSeStore will make a contribution to the customer’s chosen school every time a purchase is made on this site. School registration process: Schools have to fill out the ACCESSeStore affiliate form, which can be found at http://www.accessestoreaffiliate.com/

13. SchoolPop Web site: http://www.schoolpop.com
Program description: Participating merchants will make a contribution to the school of the customer’s choice every time a purchase is made with a registered credit card. School registration process: Schools are already signed up for this program but should encourage supporters to register their credit cards through this site.

14. Funding Factory Web site: http://www.fundingfactory.com/
Program description: By recycling old cell phones and empty inkjet and laser cartridges,  schools can earn money or points to use toward free equipment School registration process: Most schools are already registered. 

15. Cash 4 Cartridges USA   Program name: Cash for Cartridges TN
Web site: http://www.cash4cartridgestn.com/
Program description: Schools can earn money by collecting and recycling empty inkjet and laser cartridges.  Cash 4 Cartridges will pick up collections from the school. School registration process: Schools who want to participate in a recycling competition should contact Cash 4 Cartridges at 984-9020.

16. Prestige Cleaners Program name: Project Classroom
Web site: http://www.prestigecleaners.net Program description: School supporters write a school’s name on the back of their Prestige Cleaners receipt and place it in the appropriate receptacle. A percentage of sales will be given to the school designated on the receipt. School registration process: All schools are already registered and eligible for participation.

17. Kroger Program name: Kroger Earning Plus Learning Educational Incentive Program
Web site: http://www.krogerearningpluslearning.com Program description: Once a school supporter links his or her KrogerPlus card to a school using the school’s barcode, Kroger will donate a percentage of funds raised to the supporter’s chosen school. School registration process: Schools must complete and submit an application form, which can be found online. Upon completing the registration process, schools will be issued a unique barcode. Supporters should then be encouraged to link their KrogerPlus card to the school using this barcode. Schools and their supporters must re-enroll in the program at the beginning of each new school year.

18. Upromise Program name: Upromise Schools
Web site: http://www.upromise.com/schools Program description: The Upromise Schools Program allows school supporters to designate a percentage of funds raised through Upromise to a K-12 school. Periodically, Upromise and other participating companies will also offer bonus opportunities. School registration process: Once a school selects a program coordinator, he or she should visit http://www.upromise.com/school/secure/6200.do to complete the online enrollment process. Upon completion, each school will be issued a Upromise school ID. Supporters should be encouraged to link their Upromise account to the school.
