Excellence for Every Child
Farragut Intermediate School Mission Statement:
The mission of FIS is to enable all students to be caring, responsible, and knowledgeable citizens in a changing society by providing learning experiences in a safe and positive environment.
In the event of an early dismissal due to inclement weather, it is most helpful for parents to remain in the car line for pickup of students. This will help to expedite the dismissal process and ensure the safety of our students and staff. Parents who choose to park to meet their child MUST park in the visitor’s parking lot. Parking in the front car circle will NOT be allowed. Parents that choose to meet their child(ren) will enter the school building through the exterior door of our music room. This door will be clearly marked and a staff member will be stationed outside the school to assist you. A checkout table will be set up in the music room. Parents must present a picture ID in order to check out their child(ren). Please insure that your child’s Emergency card is up to date with information on who is allowed to pick up your child. Only those individuals listed on the Emergency card are allowed to pick up your child. Parents will be asked to wait in the Music room until their child arrives. Parents and students will then exit the music room into the school hallway and depart our school through the front doors. We appreciate your cooperation in this process.
We have been working on Standard 2 - Digital Citizenship in the Technology Lab. Students are learning how to make safe decisions online and when using devices. We have been using Common Sense Media.org for most of our lessons. Students may continue to work on their lessons to earn badges to become a Digital Citizenship Expert. In order to earn this honor, students must complete all five badges with 75% or better accuracy. Once this goal has been attained, students may sign the Digital Citizenship Expert posters posted outside the lab.

Additionally, the Common Sense Media website has great parent resources as well. They have age appropriate suggestions for books, movies, apps and more for ages 2 - 18.
Thank you for your continued support!
